23 persons were booked, 10 shops were sealed and 17 FIRs were registered for violating the SOPs, issued in wake of surge in COVID cases by the District Magistrate (DM) Jammu.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Chandan Kohli, around 23 persons were booked for SOPs violation while 17 FIRs were registered at different police stations of Jammu district against the violators, 10 shops were sealed and 2 vehicles were seized in the last 24 hours.
SSP Jammu said that they are getting cooperation from people in breaking the chain of COVID-19.

He added that the policemen working on the ground are facilitating the movement of the health workers, people in need of health services and other essential purposes.

As COVID cases continue to surge, all members of the public are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, visit only local and nearby shops for essentials and medicines, use masks and sanitizers and avoid crowd and gatherings.

SSP also sought the cooperation of the general public with the health workers and police so as to have an effective and efficient response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
