Owners of restaurants that were recently shut by the district administration for being constructed on Forest land protested and closed the Sidhra highway on Friday.
Till the last report was file, the owners of these restaurants along with staff members had burnt the tyres on both side of the highway and completely suspended the traffic.
Major traffic jam was witnessed on the Sidhra road as vehicles coming through the road were not aware of the protest and traffic jam caused due to it. Police present at the spot was a mere spectator as they were not able to clear the road.
Several restaurants have come up at Sidhra road allegedly on the Forest department land illegally. While the owners of these restaurants claim as to why no official came to them when they were building these structures, many residents were now questioning that construction, if illegal, was in first place should not have been done.
