Jammu, 20 April 2022: People’s Hut Foundation and Nirbhay Bharat Foundation felicitated young artists of Jammu who are playing a significant role in keeping alive the cultural heritage of J&K in their respective fields be it art, culture or language.

Director and CEO of People’s Hut Foundation Dr. Rohit Koul asserted that it is the young generation artists on whose shoulders lies the responsibility of preserving our heritage for the progeny. Therefore it becomes our duty to keep encouraging them so that they vigorously pursue the mission with utmost enthusiasm. He said that our cultural heritage is the identity of the people of Jammu and we cannot afford to lose our identity. He appreciated the efforts of the felicitated artists for keeping the J&K culture alive through their relentless performances at UT, National and International levels.

Chairperson Nirbhay Bharat Foundation Mr. Tarun Uppal while addressing the gathering on the occasion said that the youth of J&K should ensure substantial participation in the cultural activities to highlight our tradition and rituals as it will serve as a valuable guide for those watching their performance besides facilitating their advancement towards a brighter future and appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to support and encourage the local artists so that they can also grow and achieve new heights in their respective fields of art and will make every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir feel proud.

The felicitated Artists Include Mr. Sanjay Raina, Globally Renowned and International Awarded Film Maker, Producer and Director. Mr. Aditya Tickoo, Renowned Filmmaker and Film Director of the UT of J&K, Mr. Pankaj Handoo, Choreographer and National Performer who has represented J&K at various levels. The other artists who were awarded in the felicitation ceremony were Karan Bangotra, Shivani Singh,Vijay Kumar, Shriya Bhagat, Sheena Bhat and Shefali Bhat.
