In a major breakthrough in its drive against illicit liquor, today on 18.01.2021, Samba Police seized a huge cache of illicit liquor from Industrial Area SIDCO Phase II, Samba in the jurisdiction of PS Samba.
Acting on reliable information regarding storage of illicit liquor at M/S New Sarwan Sons Battery, Phase II SIDCO Samba which was purportedly kept to be sold in the adjoining area among general public at exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit, a Police Party of PS Samba headed by SHO PS Samba, Inspr Sudhir Sadotra under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Samba Sh. Tilak Raj Bhaderwaj rushed to the spot alongwith Naib Tehsildar, Samba and during checking within the premises of the said factory, recovered a huge cache of illicit liquor with a total of 2224 bottles Whisky (First Choice), the breakup of which is as: 1018 Bottles of 750 ml, 456 Bottles of 375 ml, 750 Bottles of 180 ml. All the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 85/2021 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation taken up.
