Today on 07-01-2023, a forest team of, Batote Forest Division seized a vehicle bearing registration No JK03H-0769 loaded with illegal Willow cleft bats at Forest Check Post Nashri. On specific information, a Naka was laid down by forest team headed by Sh. Vijay Khosla, Range Officer, Batote. The whole operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Dr Jitendra Kumar Singh, Conservator of Forests ,Chenab Circle Doda and Sh. Kuldeep Singh, Divisional Forest Officer, Batote and seized a Truck bearing registration No JK03H-0769 loaded with illegal Willow cleft bats. In this context forest Department has registered a case under the provision of section 4 (1) ,(2) if the Jammu and Kashmir Willow (Prohibition on export and movement) Act, 2000. The confiscation proceedings against the vehicle also initiated under Indian Forest Act,1927. The department is taking all the measures to prevent smuggling of forest produce and encroachment on forest land at any cost.
