ATM FRAUDSTER’S GANG BUSTED AT RAMBAN*

On 20-11-2021, a written complaint was filed by one person namely Ranjeet Singh Parihar s/o Keshav Ram R/O Karol, Ramban that 03 unknown non locals exchanged and swaped his ATM card when he has gone to withdraw cash from ATM booth of SBI Bank branch of SBI bank Ramban. On receipt of complaint a case FIR no. 201/2021 U/S 379/420/401 IPC was registered at P/S Ramban and investigation set into motion.
During the course of investigation it surfaced that some non locals were involved in this crime. After making stringent efforts police party of p/s Ramban led by SHO Ramban arrested 03 non locals persons namely
- Deepak s/o Krishan R/o meham, dist. Rohtak, haryana
- Jonny s/o Zile Singh r/o mokhra, dist. Rohtak, haryana
- Ajit Singh s/o Ram Kishan r/o Barsi, tehsil Bhawani-khera, haryana a/p sultanpuri, delhi and from their possession
- 48 ATM cards of 15 different banks and cash of Rs 41000/-
- Three mobile phones alongwith 05 sim cards
- Magnetic card reader device
have been recovered and seized in the instant case. A car swift bearing reg. No. DL 4CAZ 5408 has also been seized in the instant case as it was used as conveyance by the accused persons to commit the crime. Further during the investigation, the owners of 32 ATM cards were contacted and out of them 05 owners confirmed that their accounts have been transacted fraudently their cards have been exchanged by unknown persons at various ATM booths. Two transactions has been done by the above mentioned accused persons in the district Jammu in which amount of Rs 12, 500 and 15,500 respectively has been deducted from the accounts of the victims. Further investigation into the case is going on.The arrest as well recovery was made by team of P/S Ramban headed by SHO Ramban Inspector Sandeep charak under the overall supervision of Dy.SP headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen.
