Geetika Shines at Bhutan
Daughter of Jammu, Geetika Kohli Amla, an author with eight books, an educationist and founder of Assocham awarded startup, Thinksta, was invited to deliver a guest lecture on Personality and Communication by Paro College of Education, Royal University of Bhutan on 3rd August. In a powerful talk, she first unfolded the matrix of attitude-knowledge-skills-habits as the road to success, highlighting the relevance of investing in deep learning and practice. In her words, “Success is the sky that speaks to the summits within you.” Later she deliberated upon what constitutes elevated communication skills, citing the importance of unravelling figurative expression and analogies in language. The event was organised at the prestigious Manjushri Hall of PCE, and was attended by 250 students hailing from various parts of Bhutan including Thimphu and Paro. Other important attendees were the Dean of Department of Student Affairs, Ngawang Phuntsho, Lhaden, Faculty of Sciences, Dr. Karma Gyalley, Dzongkha Dept. and Chimi Dema, Faculty of Early Childhood Development. The session was enjoyed thoroughly by the students who posed many questions to Geetika and the faculty highly appreciated her journey so far. The event concluded with Geetika committing regular knowledge exchange via her startup, Thinksta to the university. Earlier during the year, Geetika had been recognised as an emerging woman entrepreneur by the Lieutenant Governer, Sh. Manoj Sinha during an Awam Ki Awaaz programme and at the Republic Day celebration at home.
