Rajni Sethi BJP State Spokesperson strongly condemned the horrific acid attack on a young girl at Srinagar. As a society we need to stand-up against these heinous, inhumane acts and introspect within, she said and expressed deep anguish against this act.
Sethi said that on the one side Government of India aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls via ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” and on the other hand women are being suffered by these acid attacks. She said that society must strive to restore a value system that used to hold women in high esteem.
She said, “In this hour of pain, I stand with the victim and her family and hope the perpetrators of this dastardly crime are expeditiously brought to justice”.
She demanded strictest punishment for the accused which could be a deterrent for all such like-minded criminals. She demanded that the attacker be given a life sentence. It is a heinous crime and the victim suffers for life. J&K is famous for Sufism and really a safer place in the country for women but these incidents has created a fear of psychosis among the young girls and women who work outside or go out for studies. There is a need to restore the feeling of security among the young girls and the women by the Police administration by taking strict action.
She further stated that once an attack happens women are in for a long haul in hospital, so the Society has to be more considerate towards them.
