February 07: Police in Srinagar have arrested 03 persons for illegal transportation of construction material in Green Belt area.
A police party of PS Nishat during checking at a checkpoint intercepted three vehicles (Tippers) bearing registration numbers JK04A-8636, JK01AN-0588 and JK01AM-9684 carrying construction materials without proper permission. The vehicles have been seized and the drivers identified as Ishfaq Ahmad resident of Gusso Hazratbal, Shabir Ahmad & Feroz Ahmad both residents of Brein Nishat have been arrested.
It is pertinent to mention that the Nishat area falls under greenbelt/notified area.
Accordingly a case vide FIR No. 10/2022 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nishat.
Persons found indulging in illegal transportation of construction materials with in govt notified areas shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
